11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?

i need you to picture me curled over my ipad at 3 in the morning desperately trying to remember anything i’ve ever googled. i’m gonna have to go with female spies from WWII for my 60s au, they’re just so badass. i wouldn’t say i worry about research, i like doing cause it helps me get an idea of what i’m aiming but i’m also writing from the perspective of a guy closer to my grandfather’s age than mine so like… accurate research is the least of my problems.

38. how many stories do you work on at one time?

one lol. i’m very boring, i like my chaos free life and if i have more than one going on i’d just get stressed about deciding which one to work on and then end up doomscrolling instagram reels for four hours. i have a hard enough time deciding between reading and writing and embroidery and taskmaster and-

68. how long will you spend on a story or scene before you give up?

not long. if i can’t get it and it’s slowing down my flow i put whatever the vague outline is in square brackets and come back to it before i start editing. i refuse to be stressed while playing with my toys in my sandbox. especially when i’m getting near the end of a work if the words aren’t flowing it’s getting cut. apologies to all the dodors readers who don’t even know i had a chapter worth of christmas shenanigans with uncle tommy and co. planned that i simply couldn’t be fucked to write
